The Bull Rider

For every mile he travels

His piece of rope unravels

For every bull he conquers

His mind starts to wonder

For every second he’s on

His body is hangin’ on

For every breath he has

He’s wishin’ it’s not the last

All these things come to mind

When ever his life is on the line

His life is in the hand of fate

Whether or not the bull has a say

People say his life is dull

But they never met face to face with a bull

The life of a bull rider is a dangerous one

But the fear and the rush is all part of the fun.

Cowboy 3

He rides on the trail

That’s almost gone

Keeping the legend alive

Even though he’s doing it alone

Time changes over the years

But he doesn’t show any fear

He does what he does

Whether people like it or not

They ignore him

As they have already forgot

His legacy lives on

Whenever he rides the Chissom trail

People say progress is the key

But not to him or to me

The Cowboy will never die

He’ll always survive

8 Seconds

As he sits on the fence
He feels pretty intense
He drew the best one out of the stock
This bull was called Red Rock

All he has is his pride
All he wants is this 8 Second ride
He gets in a good position
Now he is in a good situation

His glove is on tight
He only has one wish tonight
That wish is to be the best
Not to be one of the rest

The bull twist and turns
To make Lane feel the burn
But what the bull don't know
Is that Lane runs this show

He throws his hat in the air
He gives the bull a stare
Now Lane is the Man
In the record books is where he stands

Cowboy

There, astride his horse,
looking
over his vast rangeland with those grey eyes,
is a real hero.

You may never know
his name,
or even know if he's
real,
but in your heart you wish
that you were like him.

He is as wild as the mustangs he rides.
He can see through
a man,
ride any bronc,
and stop any steer he lays his rope on.

He, my friends, is the truest form of freedom,
the most honorable man.

He is the cowboy.

Forever
Forever in a lifetime
he'd always be here with us forever in a lifetime
that's what he promised us
until he had to go away
so very far away
forever in a lifetime
he wouldn't be here with us

he had to break his promise
the one that meant so much
why did he have to go away
that's what we wonder much

now we sit and try to talk
but we get no reply
forever in a lifetime
and we wonder why

we wish we could be with him
but now that we can't be
'cause he's in a far away place
a far away place... without us

so don't be scared
'cause we'll be there soon
forever in a lifetime
this we promise you.
