About
The Beginning Of This Site:
Welcome
to this Tribute Site for Lane Frost.
Thank you for your interest
in Lane Frost, and I am glad you found this site.
And when you are finished viewing and reading it I hope you have more insights as to
who Lane really was, and what he was about. After a few
minutes of talking with Lane,
you felt that you knew each other forever. He was that easy to get
a long with and that likable.
Lane made everyone feel special. When he was talking with you, you
were the most important
person in his world.
I started this site in May of
1999 because I found so much
inaccurate information
about Lane on the Internet. And anyone that
has ever met Lane knows he
deserves
to be remembered for the great person he was.
I originally thought this site was going to be 2 pages. A page for the story
of
the "Challenge of the Champions", Lane's duel with the
great bull Red Rock,
and a story about July 30, 1989, the day that Lane lost his life in Cheyenne. But
it wasn't long before people started e-mailing questions to me and I learned
many people wanted to know more
about Lane and his life.
The site grew to it's present size. Is it finished? No, I continue to add to it.
The
Frost Family are also involved in this site, and have helped to make it accurate
and contribute to it
regularly also. I
recommend that you start at the Site Map page to get the most
information out
of this site.
If you have a specific question you can e-mail me, but please see
if it is answered on the
Frequently Asked Questions
Page first. And the News and
Updates for the latest update
on this site.
Momentos of Lane
Many visitors to this site have written
to me asking me to send them one of my photos of Lane
(No, Sorry! I'm sure that you can understand how important they
are to me.)
and/or where they can purchase Mementos of Lane.
What better place to buy mementos of Lane than directly from
Lane's family?
Because Lane was so well known and popular, many people
requested souvenirs of and from him.
At that time the Frost family owned and operated a convenience
store. They sold the t-shirts,
posters, belt buckles and caps to the travelers that would stop
in.
After Lane's death, the family no longer wished to sell the
souvenirs and mementos.
But Lane's sister Robin
explains:
"It is only because of demand that we have anything, not
that we are trying to profit from
his death.
We have stopped making things time and time again but people kept
asking for more."
The convenience store
has since been sold, and now the items are sold on this site.
They are still packed and shipped by the Frost family.
A portion of each sale
goes to the scholarship fund Lane's family created in Lane's
memory.
I felt that, if I had a
choice, I would rather buy directly from Lane's family than anywhere
else
and I bet you would too.
A sample of the items
and a link to the catalog page is at the bottom of this page.
